i'm trying to get some feed back....in few more weeks i plan on sending out my applications to apply for public housing either in richmond or columbia and i know the area were i will be applying for housing is not going to be the best area. i'm just trying to get some info with a over view outlook what city might offer good schooling for my son who will be starting the 10th grade if he does move in with me, and people who lived in either of these city what are pro and cons of these places.

I would pick Richmond over Columbia. I have a friend in Lexington right by Columbia, and he hasn’t been able to find work for months. The people are both generally conservative in both cities, but slightly more in Columbia. You’ll have to go check out the areas for urself to make a proper decision. In my opinion I would pick something near the coastline in South Carolina like Charleston. I lived in Conway, SC for a little while, and hated it. However, I was close to Myrtle Beach.
