Default Highland Springs

Is anyone familiar with Highland Springs? We have seen a few houses for sale there that look nice but haven't heard anything about the neighborhood. Racial diversity? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Here's an old thread -- not too old -- about Highland Springs that may be useful until current posters answer your questions: http://www.city-data.com/forum/richm...-two-22-a.html

There are a couple of other threads, too, that might be helpful. The "Search Forums" feature at the top of the page is useful if you choose the "Show Posts" rather than the "Show Threads" option.

Good luck!

Highland Springs can be dicey. There are nice neighborhoods mixed in too near the Confederate Hills golf course off airport drive. And for about the same money I would recommend looking in Sandston instead. The schools are better and the area is less dicey. Highland Springs isnt the worst area in Richmond but certainly not the best. I grew up in the Varina area not too far from Highland Springs so I am pretty familiar with the area. My sister and her husband live in Sandston and love it. Their neighborhood is just off of Williamsburg Road past the N & W Salvage on the right hand side of the road near the airport. Just look in the 23150 zip code. I would say both areas are diverse.. just between the two Sandston is safer. Being close to downtown and the addition of the new White Oak Villiage make the area very convenient. Good luck!

Highland Springs is known for inexpensive housing ,and not much else. I had a friend who was forced to move from there because of problem neighbors. I would suggest looking closely at who and what you would be living by.
