Oh hell ya dawg, I know what you mean.
There is so much more nightlife in New York, LA, San Francisco and Miami.
Yeah, dude. They are all the same size and have the same population as Richmond so it totally makes sense for Richmond
to have tons of stuff to do like all the others. Richmond just totally sucks!

I'm sorry, because you seem like you come from a place that's "alive", so to speak. Richmond isn't like that. It's very conservative, people here are closed off to meeting new people, and practically everyone's a homebody.
I mean, every radio station here plays the same damn thing every single day. How's that for openness and variety? The definition of variety isn't the top 40 hottest songs of today, but the people here who run the radio stations seem to think so.

This is exactly the way that it is here. When you say NY, please understand that there is probably no other place in the USA quite like it. Then again, we don't have a $6 toll to go across the Triboro Bridge which is 50 years old and has been paid for about 10,000 times. You wont get into a two hour traffic jam here like you will on the Cross Bronx expressway. We get mad here when the toll on the nickle bridge is increased to twenty five cents. Different strokes for different folks. If it excitement and a fast paced lifestyle you seek, you probably will not like it here very much.

comparing Richmond to NYC or other major cities just isnt a fair comparison. I would have to say for a city of its size and population there is alot to do downtown. VCU has like 30,000+ students (maybe more) all located in the heart of downtown. IMO there is plenty to do downtown, whether it be shocko bottom, shocko slip, carrytown, etc.. Tabacco row is a pretty cool strip as well

The Bank and Vault is probably the closest thing to a big city club we have here. The crowd is definitely diverse and they play a decent mix of house and techno. The club Vault is underneath the restaurant Bank, a swanky converted bank building and it just opened recently. I haven't been to the new club portion yet but I hear it's hoppin'.
Here's a link to some of their MySpace pics...

The whole Bank/Vault thing is one of those "Why didn't I think of that" ideas..
I love old bank buildings...converting one into a restaurant/night club was a great idea (tho, im sure they probably weren't the first to do it)
