Default where to live in richmond

My work is bringing myself and wife to richmond. I've been looking on-line and found a place that looks nice. The place is Staples Mill Apartments, is this a good ,safe, place for a young white couple with two small dogs? And does anyone know anywhere else for rent for under $800 a month?

Check out the Fan district/Museum district and the near West End. You can find aparments in the Fan or Museum district for $700-800 range pretty easily. The area is generally nice, liberal and young with a lot of culture. The near West End, like Monument Avenue, Patterson Ave. or Grove Ave. past Ellwood Ave. has some nice single family homes around 1000 sq. ft. in the $800-900 range. Certainly a very nice area, close to everything.
