Are you in West Henrico or East Henrico, Chesterfield, Glen Allen, Hanover?
Where are you?

I totally suggest close-in Hanover County -- it has EVERYTHING you are looking for... school, Catholic Church, diverse communities, and the "atlee" area is very very c;ose to your work

where in Hanover county has the good schools, as my kids are in elementary, along with good sense of community acceptance?
We'd like a good middle and HS as well.
How about Chesterfield?

We're in Glen Allen which is Western Henrico county.

ETA: The only time we have felt uncomfortable living in Richmond as a interracial family was at an older Baptist (mainly white) church in downtown Richmond which we left (didn't feel like a good environment for our children to say the least). We've never felt uncomfortable at churches in the suburbs.

My three children attended Pearsons, then Chickahominy Middle and two graduated Atlee High (one went to the Governors School in Richmond). I was pleased with our decision to move to Hanover for the schools.
