I think that the big appeal of the mall is that it's really nice to walk around, people watch and grab a bite to eat. They did a pretty nice job laying out the place.
What time are you playing there?

NOVA wannabees, I'd say.
I play at 7 P.M. no cover.

No cover, does that mean it's a topless joint?
I'll try to swing by.

So now that I'm almost a Richmonder (transplanted), where is the 'mall', and when can we all hook up?

There are several malls, but probably "the" mall for the area is Short Pump Town Center, about 15 minutes from where you'll be living... Crate and Barrel, Orvis, H&M, all that fun stuff. There's also Stony Point Fashion Park within the city (off Chippenham Pkwy near the river), which has the Sak's and other higher end stores. Both are outdoor malls and at Stony Point, your dog is welcome too! (can't remember if you have one though!)
There's also other malls like Chesterfield Towne Center, Virginia Center Commons, Regency, etc.

I live a bit to the NW of Richmond, and have been down here a little over a year. I miss the Shenandoah Valley, but have to say that Richmond has been preserved from melting into NOVA, thank goodness.

Well I'm officially a 'Richmonder'. Signed for the house on Monday, and they just installed the cable today!!
Richmond....... I love it!! Actually, it's better than I thought. There are some things I have to get used to, but that's like anywhere.
Hope to see some of you around town.

I'm glad you're liking it! Hopefully you get used to the heat... it's been pretty hot the past couple weeks. Anyways, welcome!

I'm young, but Richmond is in my blood...
You know, I'm a college student with a fiancee and we always talk about what we're going to do after we get our degrees. He's mentioned moving out west, or down to Atlanta, and even (gasp) seeing how we would do in Philadelphia or, bless his heart, Boston. But growing up in Richmond has made me a fan for life and I always tell out-of-towners and friends from other states that I just CAN"T imagine living anywhere else. Anyway, I wanted to share a website with some more gems that I know Richmonders will appreciate Little things like this:
You know you're from Richmond if...
You know the Nickel Bridge really costs a quarter
You go to the Outer Banks for vacation, even though Va Beach is closer
You can go from Chester to Hanover and still say you're in "Richmond"
<http://www.people.cornell.edu/pages/rcc45>
And, if I may, I'd like to add another that only someone from our neck from of the woods would understand. You know you're from Richmond when you drive down the same road for 10 or 15 miles- the SAME road- but it has 4 or 5 different names. Rt. 301/Rt. 1, Brook Rd. and Chamberlayne Ave., Belvidere, Jeff Davis Hwy...need I say more!

Ugh, that got me too many times when I first got down here. More than once I was backtracking looking for a branch in the road that I missed. One that got a friend of mine was how Nuckols turns into Pouncy tract. Is it an intersection, a merge or what?
