The Boston music scene is quirky and very cliqueish. There are
some very talented players. It's the sax Capitol of the world
with Berklee and the Conservatory there. There's an Idie rock
scene that's very active. The singer/songwriter scene is good
as well.
It's tough to "break-in" in Boston and turnouts for for
most non-national shows have been way down in the last
year or two (not surprising given the fiscal climate). The entire
Music industry is in serious disarray lately as it has not found
a working business model since downloading became prevalent.
This is why I have kept IT as my primary career and pursued
music as a second nearly full time gig.

10 out of 64, or 16%, are out of town. Those 10 are the last 10 on the list.

No idea what the music scene is like in Boston or any other part of the world, but I grew up in Richmond and studied music at the university there.

There are some really talented musicians in Richmond, just gotta find out where they're playin!
