Hi there. Am looking into seeing if Roanoke offers any type of weekly inexpensive type motels/hotels. I have seen Extendedstay America & there's is fine when they have a special! But anything less expensive would be a bit better for me.

Also, I read in an older thread about people with allergies. Is it safe to say that people who suffer any type of allergy shouldn't live near the mountians or places similar?

Thanks in advance!

I recently moved here and had to stay at a hotel for 3 weeks. I stayed at the Howard Johnsons of Peters Creek Rd it was about $150 for 7 days I also stayed @ the travelodge off rt 81 on lee Highway it was $ 146 for 7 days. Travelodge was a bit better to be able to walk for dining and stores .It depends on what part of the city you need to be closest too ?

Be careful with super cheap hotels though. Stayed at a national chain in PA once and quiclky regretted it. Bedbugs! Not saying all cheap ones are bad, but they tend to skimp sometimes on cleaning and updating. And perhaps the people staying don't practice good hygene and can't afford nicer hotels? I don't know. Not profiling or anything, but it is the sad truth. Just inspect it and look up reviews. I did and the hotel I stayed in actually got average reviews, so that isn't the gold standard. Wish I could reccomend something, but don't know. Even the good hotels gross me out. I'm very ocd with stuff like this, sorry.

As far as allergies go, if you live on the east coast in general, you are going to suffer allergies. I guess it depends on what type, but the east in general is very green, hence more pollen and flowers blooming. I don't know if mountains make any difference in that regard though. Good luck!
