Default Recommendations for a hotel in Lynchburg!!

Coming to Lynchburg soon and need some hotel recommendations. PLEASE!!! NO recommendations for a $200 a night place. Just need a clean (NO BED BUGS, PLEASE!!), affordable ($100-$129 or so) place that's QUIET.

Thanks!!

I usually stay at the Kirkley using Hotwire. About $60-$70/night. Not new but clean and well maintained. Nice plasma TVs.

I stayed there once about 12 years ago when it was a Hilton. Hopefully, they have cleaned it up -- there was a rat in our heat/air condition unit. I never actually saw it but we kept hearing it and finally, they sent a security guard with a flashlight. When he looked in the unit, he literally jumped back and said "whoa". So, I assume it was a pretty big rodent.

Yes, it sits back from the road and it's far enough away from the train tracks. We've had many friends stay there without problems. Courtyards by Marriott are very well managed and maintained -- I've stayed at lots of them and never had a problem.

If you're overly concerned though, ask the front desk for the quietest part of the hotel when you book it -- part of it faces a bowling alley but it's fairly quiet area.

I have stayed at the K at least 10 times in the last few years with never a problem. Beds are very comfortable and upgraded. Kids love the indoor pool. They also will drive me wherever in town I need a ride for free. Most importantly--showers are good. Not the light spray of many newer ones with extreme water saving showers. I think it's a great value as I usually stay 5-7 nights.

Glad to know Kirkley cleaned it up when they bought it. It was at least 15 years ago when Hilton owned it. We were also in a room one floor above the kitchen, so now whenever we stay in hotels, we make sure we're no where near the kitchen.
