Default Visiting in October, where to stop?

So where do we make sure to stop?

We'll be there (Roanoke, Blackburg area) for 2-3 days during our 2 week vacation, on our way to Lancaster, PA.

- Eats? Italian, Steak House, Seafood
- Museums? Auto or local
- Interesting stops?
- Entertainment?
- Local / City Parks?
- Frisbee Parks?

In Roanoke, the place to be:
Roanoke, VA Downtown District | The Official Website of Downtown Roanoke, IncPlenty of everything to choose from on a 2 day stay. Stay at the Hotel Roanoke, walk downtown or the Holiday Inn Express, Days Inn 460. There is always a festival, event downtown on the Market.
In Blacksburg, quaint little downtown, a big college town, great walking trails,
beautiful mountain scenery centered around the University.

Interesting stops depend on what you like.

Foamhenge & the other kitchy stops around it in Natural Bridge are pretty fun.

Entertainment also depends on what you like. Roanoke has live music in several venues pretty much every night of the week. Both Roanoke and Blacksburg have indie movie houses. Blacksburg will have VT football & other events in October.

Tons of parks. Roanoke is great at greenspace. Greenways criss-cross Roanoke, and Blacksburg/Christiansburg has the Huckleberry Trail. Tons of other outdoor stuff to do, as the Blue Ridge Parkway and the Appalachian Trail are nearby.

Roanoke has two disc golf parks & Blacksburg has one, according to this list (Hollins=Roanoke).
