Does anyone remember Vernon Green. He could really use that paddle. I will never forget his voice. "Good morning, time to get up" This was somewhere between 1969 and 1971. Before Ohio or Idaho existed. Their was only Virginia and Maryland.
I am looking for an Uncle. I am adopted and only have my non-id information but I know he was at Edgemeade in the early 70's. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Dang, I almost NEVER think of those days. Ya'll were well after me. I think I was gone by '71. Skip Pollard & I ran away too, with the idea of exposing Dr. Dinwiddie for tuition fraud. We had broken into his office late at night and had discovered some paperwork that indicated impropriety. Probably something silly and innocent but we were the Woodward & Bernstein of Edgemeade. Probably bull****, but we were gonna change the world. Lots of good mostly bad memories.

Johnny Williams Todd Panacy Skip Pollard Greta... I forget, Sandy Bensen

Wow.

I remember Todd and Skip..they lived up at the trailer..along with Thorn? Had long straight hair.. I think I was a form 3 for most of my stay..yes..I remember having my head shaved and clothes and shoes taken from me..
I remember running away when they went on a skating trip to Roanoke, hid in the back of the van with RIP..we snuck on a greyhound bus and made it to dc, where police picked us up hitch-hiking as we had our heads shaved and guess we looked like runaways...
I remember being sick and slept late through breakfast and they woke me after and staff allowed students to beat the crap out of me for over sleeping....man...I remember those days vividly...

I would love to hear from anyone who was there then. I was at Edgemeade of Ohio sometime during 1974. I learned several trades to include printing, automotives, carpentry, won the 1974 billiard trophy. Does anyone remember the Hungates?

I was in Edgemeade the year they became co-ed. No girls till then and getting them was such a big deal. When they first came they stayed in a trailer beside the main road across from the main house next to the barn. Boy what memories. I would love to have some sort of reunion.

My name is Brian and I was a young 9 year old there. I only remember a couple people one being Sonya Martinez. I had the biggest crush on her! lol And then the tall thin guy that was like 18 and wore a black cowboy hat. He went out in the woods and picked Gimson Weed seeds and sprinkled them on Pizzas and got everyone hi. I wound up in the hospital because of it. I remember fishing at the lake....and I was there when the school was shut down and we all went in staff members cars and I was driven to Edgemeade of Ohio. They never got permission from my parents to take me out of state so when I was able to finally make a phone call to m family months later my parents hit the roof and called their lawyer!
From what I remember, there was a lot of negative memories. Wasn't a good way for a child to grow up.I think I was there in 1978-1979. I was a small 9 year old ...black hair...was obviously one of the younger kids.

I was there. Would really have to do some serious math to figure out the years. I think Edgemeade was fairly new then. I was escorted their at age 13 by two Private dectectives on a plane from Va. beach. I was at Va first then to Maryland then Ohio. I was at Va. when it first went co-ed. The first girl, Kim Coombs and I were insepirable for a while I remember.

I spent 2.5 years there and finally graduated from Ohio into a Halfway house back in Va. where I spent like a year..

I remember some of it.. Fighting, drugs, breaking into the infirmeries, etc. Anyone remember Eddie Breedon?

Ok.. So it was super early when i stumbled across this place this morning.

And I have now done the math. I was at Edgemeade from 68-72. Started in Va. I remember Ohio well, as I was stabbed in the back by the head guy's "Pet" Eddie Breedon. I forget him name now.

I also think I was in Md. too, but remember nothing of it..

My buddies in Va. then were RL Davis and Joey Jambaracco. Both found dead together from an overdose in DC.

Looks to me that most on this forum were there after I was....
