You guys are cracking me up!
That said- I am a white woman that drives a light blue Toyota 4runner and likes to listen to 50 Cent blaring quite loudly at times. I slouch sometimes too.
Not sure if this makes me a thug, but I think I shall consider myself a thug!
I am going to change my screen name to TreeThug.

This thread is a thuggernaut!

Note to O.P.: if you mean black people, say "black people." Don't be coy with the language.

In my unscientific opinion I'm going to say Roanoke is 90% thug or thug wannabe's. Drive down Melrose Ave any day, and you'll see it there. Take a spin down Cove Road, Lafayette Blvd, Hunt Ave, Salem Ave, Liberty Rd, Shenandoah Ave and you'll see it. Drive through SW around Chapman, Patterson & Campbell Avenues and you'll see it there, too. Heck, drive around ANY street in MOST any neighborhood in Roanoke city and you'll see it. NW & most of SW is your black thugs, SE is your white trash redneck thugs. NE is decent. South Roanoke is nice (but who can afford to live there?) Grandin/Raleigh Court area is nice. Other than that, stay AWAY! Try Roanoke County or Salem. Roanoke City is awful. Walking anywhere near or in downtown you'll see nothing but homeless people who constantly harass you for money or cigarettes. It recently was ranked the most dangerous city in the Commonwealth.

I consider myself a ne'er-do-well and I am offended (OFFENDED, I TELL YOU!) that you lumped me together with the ruffians and delinquents!

Well, I suppose I will address JustNVa's comment first. I didn't know I was a "white trash redneck thug" until now. I guess my neighbors in SE are too then. It's amazing how some people group everyone in the entire neighborhood into one pile and choose the worst to set an example with, lol. I've lived in SE Roanoke since 1997 when I bought my house. I have a bachelors degree,a FT job, an Audi, Toyota, have all my teeth and all 3 of our kids graduated high school with honors. Most of my neighbors are also educated, own their home and work FT and one even had a daughter just graduate from VT. The "thugs" in my SE area are just kids who lack parental supervision. Sorry to disappoint those who were hoping to see "real live thugs" on the sight-seeing tour through SE Roanoke.

I used to live in Roanoke & some of my colleagues used to "roll" like that - slouched in their seats, windows down, loud music, seat pushed back.
These were full-time employed, successful professionals with good education & decent family. How they drive their car or their music, dressing sense doesn't automatically categorize them as "thugs" because this is the definition of a thug: a violent person, especially a criminal. Sorry to say this but your post is VERY offensive. We have millionaires here driving pickup trucks, wearing faded jeans & cap, playing loud country music. And plenty of bikers dressed in all leather, helmets, beard, piercings & tattoos, rolling down loudly on their harleys. I hope you dont have a problem with the way they roll as well. You might see them one day driving a loud harley & next day you find out they are also your dentist.
