Are there any in the Roanoke area? Basically its a huge lot with many manufactured homes on it; the ones I'm familiar with also sell homes already on the lot and would love to find one that does rent to own.

Have you done a Google Search using the terms mobile home park and Roanoke? I came up with several when I did this. Though the technical name for this housing is manufactured home, they still are called mobile homes or trailers by many people.

Good luck!

Yes; but I could not find any that were stil open or accepting families and not just seniors. SO I came here to ask locals. Thanks!

I don't live in Roanoke. I suspect that since manufactured homes provide affordable housing that the parks have a low vacancy rate. Hopefully someone who lives in Roanoke & who knows about manufactured home parks in Roanoke or Salem will respond.

I have no idea - but I will ask on another board (local) and let you know if anything comes up!

I also saw a site - mhvillage.com - don't know how helpful it might be.

There is a place called YELLOW MOUNTAIN VILLAGE on the southeast outskirts of the metro area - pretty rural - but not all that far from the action. 5183 Yellow Mountain Rd. I do not see a web site for it.

I think there's two in Salem, one on Main St past the Wal-Mart which looks like a horror movie set, and another near the Roanoke river and 12 o' clock knob rd that seems much nicer.

Thank you to everyone who responded. I will look into the suggestions! We are going to move into an apartment to start I think and then look for a home from there.
