Finally our own forum!
We now have our own forum for our area! I think this will be a great research and learning tool for those folks interested in this region. I am looking forward to using this forum. Good luck Roanoke forum!

Great! It would have been neat though to see it listed as "Roanoke/southwest Virginia". Southwestern Virginia covers alot of real estate and people and seems a shame to have no mention of it in a sub-forum. Some of the "bigger small towns/cities" in SW VA are Abingdon (which often in mentioned in the Tri-Cities TN forums, since it is so close), Wytheville, Marion, Galax, Blacksburg, Gate City, Wise, Big Stone Gap, Hillsville, etc. I know that they can be discussed in the "general" forum, so its not all that bad.
I also know you cannot please everyone though!

agreed
That was asked and requested to the administrator in a prior thread. The administrator said they only group subforums for metro areas instead of broader areas ect. I would have liked Roanoke/Nrv/Lynchburg but like you said we will take what we can get!! :-D

What do you do for work? What do you do for recreation? What are you looking for in topography? There's lots of info here. Read the sticky at the top of the VA forum, do some specific searching, and we'll try to answer the things you still need info on!

Hello Roanoke-metroareans! This is just to introduce myself. I used to live in Lexington and my middle daughter lives in Roanoke. I want to move back thereabouts one day, but not just yet.
That's all - just stopping in to say hi!

Still In The UK
Thank you for your replies.
Well, we are still here in the UK. My husband thought he might have had a job offer in the UK that would have enabled him to stay with the same company with a re-location back to the States...It did not happen, so we are still here.
We are still looking at Virginia, Roanoake and Marion...but we have also been looking at Forida and South Carolina...a lot depends on jobs.
I love reading these posts...it really does help to make our minds up.
Regards
Snow
