Smile Looking for Horse (s) and board

Hi - My wife, daughter, and I are looking for 1, possibly, 2 horses as well as board. All of us ride English, my wife and daughter having ridden for years. I'm the newbie - almost one year now. All of us rise weekly, sometimes more often. So, we are certain of our desire to buy a horse (s). There does not appear to be a shortage of horses for sale. But I am having some difficulty locating affordable board. The least expensive stable I have found so far is $300 monthly, per horse. Pasture boarding is something we'll definitely consider, especially if there is some kind of weather shelter. Anyway, if someone has a suggestion, please drop a note.

Gary Camlach has openings for pasture board:

Southwest Virginia Dressage Association (SWVADA) ~ Boarding, Training or Lessons Classifieds

Someone was just posting here about a new pasture board farm in Franklin County in the Wirtz/Burnt Chimney area.

Stall board isn't going to get much cheaper than $300 unless there is some charity thrown in These days $300 barely covers expenses. Hay is more expensive than ever, as is grain.

Have you tried Shadow Ridge Stables in Franklin County (Smith Mtn Lake area). They're about 20min. from Roanoke. I have a friend that boards there and she loves the place and care her horse gets. They may have horses for sell also. Best of luck!
