Grocery/Department Stores in Lynchburg?
Hi. I'll be moving to Lynchburg in July, and I was wondering if someone who lives there could tell me what grocery and/or department stores to expect. I assume there's a Wal-Mart (just about everywhere has one! ), but I don't have any idea what else to expect for shopping.
If this question has already been answered, my apologies...I didn't see it on another thread.
Thanks in advance for any help any of you can give me!

It looks like, in the Lynchburg area there are at least six Krogers, a Food Lion, a couple of 7-11's, a Saigon Oriental Grocery & Gifts, a Walmart Supercenter, a JC Penney, a Value City dept store, A Target, a couple of Family Dollar stores, a Belk dept store, A Pier 1, and a Talbots.

Also Kohl's and Old Navy not to mention Steve and Barry's. Best Kroger's is Boonsboro--nice meat and deli.

I'm surprised Ukrops does not locate in Lynchburg, since they bring their food from a warehouse in the Richmond area to Roanoke. Since they close on
Sunday its not convenient for me but they do have some unique offerings like prepared and specialty foods. My favorite grocer is Fresh Market which seems
to offer a better quality of fresh food. Lynchburg would go wild for FM like Roanoke!!

Sounds like something we need. Also need a real good meat market-butcher shop and a bakery.
