Default Raod bike

I have recently purchased a Giant Suede and am really out of shape. I am looking for some easy rides in the Blue Ridge/Roanoke area w/not to many hills. I recently was on the Greenway that runs from the water treatment plant to the other end past smith park. I really enjoyed that ride alot! Any idea how long it is?

Default Road bike

My husband said it was our old age bike. It's really a comfort/road bike. Its good on pavement. It has a wider seat, pedals that are slightly out in front of you and handle bars that you don't have to hang over. I love it.

That bike sounds great. It sounds a lot like the bike I have but I think mine is a "cruiser".

I can't really give advise on where to ride in Roanoke but I can tell you about the New River Trail. The closest place to get on would be in Pulaski, about an hour from Roanoke. If you are wanting to spend the day riding it would certainly be worth driving to get there. The trail is an old railroad bed and very easy to ride on since it is well packed and flat.

Have fun riding!

I think the New River trail is about 40 miles long.

Check the Blue Ridge Bike Club out--google 'em.

Blacksburg has some nice greenways, if you like the Roanoke River greenway. The Huckleberry Trail goes from BBurg to Christiansburg.
