Default Google's Street Level Views of Roanoke!

For those interested in what Roanoke is like "in person", you might give Google Maps a try. I just noticed they've got pretty good coverage of the valley!

Here are some examples:

Grandin Village - You can "walk" around and check out the Grandin area of Roanoke, a hip little "village" inside the city limits.

Avenham Avenue in South Roanoke - Upscale neighborhood.

Black Dog Salvage @ Memorial Avenue Bridge - Cross the bridge into the Grandin area!

Elm Avenue, West of Downtown - Good example of an affordable urban neighborhood.

City Market, Downtown Roanoke - The heart of downtown. A fantastic place to be on any afternoon of the week. This streetview is around 6pm, when the merchants have all gone home for the day.

Fun feature!

Sean

I love it! It's just like being there.

Too bad the market pictures were so late - it would have been nice to see all the vendors set up.

If you "surf" by my house, please bring the trash can in off the street.

Thanks for the map...just found my MIL's house (the person responsible for finding Roanoke for us!) and it's been 13 years since I've laid eyes on it (she moved in 1996)! Looks the same with the exception of tree growth around it.....awww the memories
