Although I am not Catholic, I would be interested in knowing if they are even available any more. If I were to guess on a possibility, I would say St Andrews in Roanoke, but that nothing more than a guess.

Some of our members who are Catholic should be jumping in soon.

other people have posted about st andrew's, but apparently it's not a traditional latin mass. the closest one was in mt airy, but they moved to greensboro. now i'm just hoping to find one within 2 hours, but it looks like the closest ones may be in charlotte or annandale. which means we would probably only be able to go maybe once per 6 weeks or so... not ideal. i'm surprised because in other parts of the country, you can usually find one within an hour and a half, at least a church that will have it once per month. i've pretty much always had to drive an hour to get to one, but it looks like if i come out there, it'll be pretty ridiculous. i've read articles that make it sound like there's not many requesting it in the area at this point. boo

Syon Abbey near Copper Hill in Franklin county could be a start.

I realize that this is an older thread but just wondering if there is any updated/new info on traditional Catholic churches in the Roanoke area? A traditional NO would be fine, a Latin Mass would be wonderful.

I asked a friend who suggested you look into Holy Comforter Parish in Charlottesville, Va. They have several Latin Masses each month. At least they used to so see what they're doing now.

You could also look into St. Francis of Assisi in Amherst, Va. although they are not doing the Latin Mass she says but still very good.
