JGallimore is on a distinguished road
You may want to look in the Back Creek section of Roanoke County. This would prevent you from having to traverse up and down Bent Mountain on a daily basis, which is extremely curvy and in the winter somewhat dangerous. This area would put you within 10-15 minutes of most places in Roanoke, yet would give you a more rural/countryside feeling. Then when you wanted to go to Floyd, you would only be 35-40 minutes away. Just a thought. Although if it were up to me, I would just move to Floyd and forget Roanoke all together. It really is a magical place.

I'm a very short walk from "downtown" Willis so I'm sure we will run into each other before too long, maybe at Jim's Grill or down the road a piece at Dino's. Or in the village mart of course.

I retired here 3 years ago from Oakland, CA and love it.
