Anybody interested in a Roanoke forum meet-up?
I've seen other forums do this - plan an organized "meet & greet" so forum members can meet in person.
I'd like to see if there's any interest in doing this, then we'd just have to pick a date/time/place.

Sound like a good idea, do I have to bring you flower?  Earnestly, I'm for it, and location-wise, I'd propose some cool cafe in SW Roanoke County. |

We had talked about this one time before.. But I took some time off of the forum (I was getting way too addicted) And I am not sure if they ended up meeting up or not. Count me in!!  |

We did not wind up meeting. Everyone was on board initally, but then odd things kept cropping up. The group of about six or seven dwindled to about two or three, so we put the idea on (indefinite) hold.  |

Great! What was the plan before? Should we revisit it or do something different?
I think Don's on the right track with a SW County cafe - was everyone leaning toward a week night or a weekend (day or night)??

fwiw, the plan back then was to meet at the downtown Mill Mountain Cafe on a Saturday afternoon. That way, if we were hanging out for an hour or two and having a good time and wanted to move on to drinks instead, we could just walk across the street to Awful Arthur's or one of the other taverns.
That way, too, if anyone wasn't having fun or not "fitting in," that transition would be an easy out for them to head home without having to awkwardly leave by themselves from the table or whatnot. |
