Smile Moving to Roanoke

Hi Everyone,

I posted a few weeks ago...my husband and I are moving to Roanoke from Florida in May. We found an apartment/townhouse community called Bent Tree Apartments, I was wondering if anyone is familiar with them or can give me any reviews on them? DH will be working in at the edge of Boones Mill & Rocky Mount (I'm not super familiar with the area yet), and I was warned to consider the commute he would be making every day; however, he already drives 35-40 min to and from work everyday where we live now, so we're used to that. Just wondering if anyone could comment on the apartment community, and maybe also the neighborhood that it is in. Anything you want to share is welcomed since I know nothing about the area. Thank you!

Bent Tree's reviews look good. First thing that I'd do is find a quick way to get to Rt. 581 S. Sometimes, the major roads intersecting with Electric Rd (and Electric Rd itself) can keep you sitting for a bit. I'd put the commute from there to the border of Boones Mill/Rocky Mount at about 25 minutes, give or take.

I'd say Colonial to Ogden, Odgen to Electric, Electric to 581

That's a good location. Far enough from 581 so that you don't hear it. We looked at a house not far from there on Winding Way Road that was very nice but you could hear the drone of 581 constantly.
