Smile Buying a home in Roanoke, VA area-ideas?

Hi All,

Can anyone give me an idea of where to look to buy a house in the Roanoke area? I will be working in the Hollins area on Plantation Road. I'd like to keep my commute to a minimum.

I am looking for a decent neighborhood. I have a young family with two kids under the age of 7.

Thanks,

Anywhere in Roanoke will put you within easy commuting distance of Hollins. Look into the 24013, 24018, and 24019 zip codes.

Roanoke is a pretty compact little area, so you don't have to worry too much about commute times. My husband works in the Hollins area and we live in SW County. Still his commute is only about 30 minutes each way.

BTW - I highly recommend SW County as a great area for families with younger children.
