Who would you recommend living in Roanoke to?
We all know that Roanoke has plenty of pro's and yes a few con's but who would you most likely recommend it to? Just curious to see who you would see the area best fit for. Thanks for voting!!

I wanted to choose young families with children AND retired people because I think it's good for both!

Middle-aged families with teenagers.
(We may straddle the coveted 18-35 demographic, but we do exist!)

This is a trick question depending on whether you're talking about Roanoke the city or Roanoke the area, right?
My take:
Young families with children: Roanoke or Botetourt counties.
Retired individuals: SML, if you can afford it. If you can't quite swing it financially, then the Bedford area.
Young singles (18-30) with no children: Roanoke city. (this was what I cast my vote for)
Singles (30+) with no children: Roanoke city or Salem.
Singles with children: Couldn't speak at all about what this group would want....

Great breakdown..
As far as Singles with Children...i think the overall affordability/ low C.O.L. of the Roanoke region would be attractive to a single parent with children.

I chose young families with children (though I would add older families with children too ) But yeah, when I was a young single, I had fun, but after 30, as a woman, I found it VERY hard to meet a decent guy in Roanoke, so I would recommend it to a single guy over 30, but not a single gal.
