Rents in decent areas run $400-$700 for 1br, $500-$900 for 2br, and $750+ for larger units and homes.

They just need more like it.
Not anymore. Closed down recently for tax reasons. One LESS place to go in Lynchburg in the evenings

Yes LU is creating entertainment options for Lynchburg. But will it hurt downtowns' efforts to revitalize? Sometimes it seems LU thinks they own Lynchburg. Overall LU is a positive economic force for the area though. I would like to see a trolley that would tie in with a parking area to bring visitors downtown. It would be operated by Lynchburg Transit. It would be the first visual clue to an outsider that Lynchburg wants visitors to visit its downtown. I don't like idea of movies downtown as it creates more police oversight. I believe Lynchburg recently hired a dynamic new head of downtown revitalization, not just a talking head. A local radio station did a program on this issue and he sounded like a winner!
