"Treasures" in Roanoke (houses, road, diamond)

I didn't know the Roanoke Times has some very thoughtful discussion threads buried deep in its onlinie repository until lately... like diamond maybe...

And for another, drove around early this evening, just for the heck of it, up onto a route never taken before, and ran into Mudlick Road, wow, houses are quite amazing along the way, stylish and of character, to some it may be majestic as well...
