There's a decent gay population here. We have Tilt nightclub, which is nothing like Splash in NYC, but still has a loyal following.
A few bars like Muthers, RJ's...not too many.
There are PFLAG meetings and the community is supportive, but you'll have to search them online to find them.
July has a lot of gay things going on pretty much everywhere. There's a whole slew of events starting this Saturday (7/10) at Seabreeze, I think. You can meet people at these places.
