I'm applying for a job in Geneseo. I grew up in the general area, and in fact I took my driving test in Geneseo back in high school (failed on the 1st try!). However, I never really spent any time there and it's been a good 15 years or so, basically my entire adult life, since I have lived in WNY.
I am wondering what life in Geneseo would be like for someone in their mid-30's, not married. Based on the demographic info, it would appear that the town is pretty well dominated by college students (median age of 21.1?!). I am a little apprehensive about that. I'm also curious about outdoor recreation opportunities in the area.
Basically, are there people older than college-age but younger than my parents around? What's the real estate/tax situation? What do people do for fun around there? Any other input would be helpful as well.
