Well opiods aren't crossing the border legally. Someone has to bring it to the U.S. and hire people to distribute the drugs! Do some research on what the "Santuary City" term means and what Sheriff Todd Baxter can do on preventing drugs from being brought to Rochester.

Have you tried going to City Council meetings to see if anyone could pass legislation to tackle down on the criminal mischievousness going on in your neighborhood?

From my own experience neighborhoods are composed of people, and like it or not some places have higher and lower proportions of good and bad people. If you live in a neighborhood that exceeds a certain threshold of bad it's hard to really get anything done that will have a long term impact. The City of Rochester for a long time now has had vast swaths of run down areas that have changed from formerly working blue collar communities to welfare drug infested dens like Plymouth, N Clinton, N Goodman, Brown Street, and Edgerton Square. I would love to know how these areas are doing, but I've been told things are not getting better unfortunately. Rochester Metro is relatively cheap, I would just move to a Suburb. It seems the City could use a bit of gentrification!

Drugs have been in this country before the terms has even come about and gets into the country in various ways, if not home grown.

With this said, there needs to be some real community policing and cooperation in the neighborhood the OP is in.

There does seem to be a need for real community involvement while the government is shutdown, and education is important.
I agree people have been sneaking into our country with opiods before the "Sanctuary City" term was even made an official term, but we still have to keep their product away from our neighborhoods. Opiods are dangerous and illegal!

I agree many people grown their own Marijuana but Marijuana is going to be made 100% legal soon anyways.

This doesn’t have anything to do with “people sneaking in”, as I dare say most drug dealers are born citizens of various backgrounds and opioids have been a problem in the past. In fact, check this out starting at 2:30 and to give some background this occurred in an area that was your typical highly ethnic(very Italian, with some German and Irish) at the time:

Unfortunately as long as the government is shutdown the wall won't be built and we will continue to have open borders and more crime in our country. I'm surprised Trump didn't run for president sooner! In the meantime lets excerise our 2nd amendment rights and have weapons to defend ourselves from the illegal aliens and their opiods!

Gather your neighbors together to form a neighborhood watch. They are all probably feeling as helpless as you do. Unite. Put pressure on the police department. Let them know there are decent people in the neighborhood who support them. Cops are human too. They feel like everything is "Us vs. Them".

Go storm Mayor Warren's office too. She's nothin' but a gangsta. So are many of Rochester's city officials. That's why the city schools are such a disgrace. Lovely has her thumb on the police department too. When they do their jobs properly, the Race Card is pulled against them. This is probably why they simply drive by. Tied hands and tired hearts.

But I'm not one to retreat. I'd rather stand and fight then to flee. Not everyone feels that way.

If you chose to flee, bypass the Monroe Country burbs too. Go straight into the rural country areas, preferable out of Monroe country completely. Commute to work.
