Thank you very much for yor information. You might want to double check with your sources of information (Brown University, Wikipedia, are you serious!!).

Just to give you an idea how data could be manipulated in the following article.

Did the National Association of Realtors Inflate Housing Numbers by 1.6 million in 2010? | TIME.com

Meanwhile I fully understand why you look up to Rochester, consider I wouldn't even want to visit Syracuse let along to live there.

According to what? Where is that infomation?

Also, the information given has references and Brown University does its own research. You guys can do better than that.

Yeah, imagine a 70 year old rich guy running to Florida for the coldest part of the year after living in NY all his life. Quite a concept! Think it will catch on?

BTW, Tom comes back in the summer to lounge at his Canandaigua and Mendon homes. Well, that's if he's not jetting around the world because he's a billionaire and billionaires do things like that....

I ran into him in Florida and he has nothing good to say about Rottenchester. I couldn't blame him after trying to sell his daughter's house for more than 2 years. He also complained about the taxes in Rottenchester that's why he become a permanent resident in Florida and you must spend more than 6 months there. I don't know if that's what a billionaire would do though but I guess he only likes to visit Rochester. Oh! We also agree that Syracuse will head to a dead end before Rochester.

No doubt. I hate the taxes too. But watch as that playing field levels out in the states that everyone has fled to. I have relatives in NC. The only thing cheaper there now are the taxes. Everything else is high and climbing.....except the incomes. Do the math.

Feel free to check out the Census' website for their cost of living calculator. It does a few different categories and you can see, it all depends on the area. You could move to bumfug Mississippi and live pretty cheap or move to NOLA or Wrightsville Beach and pay a bit more.
