I have been visiting my brother for the last two weeks. If you are visiting the Rochester or its surrounding community's you have to visit these two places. I always stop at them when I am in town and always love it.
Abbott's --- custard cones
Bill Grays --- cheeseburger with meat hot sauce.
Im hungry again just thinking about it.

I'd take them to High Falls. Maybe go to the new Genesee Brew Pub. What other city has a 99' waterfall in the middle of their downtown? A wine and cheese trail tour through the Finger Lakes, especially if it's fall. Most people say to take them to the Pittsford Wegmans.

The Genesee Brew Pub sounds good. Wegmans im not sure . Abbott's / Bills Gray's is unique to Rochester. Also they are really good. I will definitely try the Pub.Schaller's also a good choice but in my opinion Bill Gray's wins in the Hamburger taste buds.

I would take them somewhere that had Zweigle hot dogs. Made locally and they are the best hot dogs in America(IMHO).Wegmans is also a good idea. Its suprising how many cities have such lousy grocery stores.

Dogtown Hots on Monroe Ave. and Wings from Salvatores with Country Sweet Sauce. and Perry's Ice Cream at a scoop shop (Lugia's, Netsins, Ice Cream World and Russells come to mind). We have DQ and Culvers (the midwest answer to Abbots, but I can't find a joint that has decent, inexpensive, hard serve here (SW Michigan).
