Nevermind, I didn't read his 2nd post where he mentioned nightlife. I agree nightlife in the form of $hitty clubs is bad for the area, but what about a decent sports bar and/or tavern? Something that parents could take their kids to during the day for lunch, then return at night for a few drinks with friends in a casual atmosphere? I've already gone over all my thoughts in another thread somewhere, but it involved a sports themed establishment based on the Red Wings, and other local sports teams.

And isn't Luna on the other side of the street from the falls? Or is it the larger place that overlooks the falls? I have only passed through there once in the past year as a detour because, otherwise, there's no reason to go down there.

I'm just looking for a restaurant. I elaborated to nightlife, but neither is found in the district.

Luna is in the old centers building where Tiki Bobs and those other clubs were. Unless there is another one I don't know about.
I agree that something like a sports pub that's family oriented would be a good idea. And they need to stop cutting deals with the shady bar/restaurant owners. I enjoyed going to Jimmy Macs after a red wings game. But the management was shady and it closed. It was a place people actually went to. I think marketing it as more family friendly would be better. Lots of the buildings are being used as office space now but there are still plenty of areas to put restaurants in.

That is the place I was thinking of.

And apparently you've never been there since there is the Genny brewhouse within walking distance to the place.
Why don't you tell us the reason to have Casinos on both sides of the Niagara Falls?

This is the stupidest post in the history of City Data.

If a city is successful, there is a nightlife almost anywhere. "Nightlife" doesn't necessarily mean clubs.

a successful city has nightlife almost anywhere? That couldn't be further from the truth. In the past year I've spent a decent amount of time in Boston(to use as an example). There are many places that shut down after 5 pm when the work crowd leaves in that city. I would do some work in the financial district, but after a certain time, it was a ghost town. A nightlife is more than clubs, but for general purposes, nightlife mostly means clubs and bars.

The casinos aren't next to the falls like the High Falls Rochester district is. They are in the cities of Niagara Falls, but you have parks next to the actual falls.

Equate High Falls with the Harbor district in Boston. That's how stupid Rochester is. A gem and nothing but empty buildings.

Bring back the Spaghetti Warehouse, Jimmy Mac's and Jillians (ew, I feel dirty).

I don't know too many people that go out in the Harbor area in Boston. It seems more like a day attraction with the harbor walk and aquarium. Nearby Fanieul hall would be where people in that area go at night with lots of bars.

high falls is not empty buildings. They put office space in the area the past few years. I don't agree with that but it's what is there. I would rather see restaurants that cater to the family crowd. The city tried to cater to the 20s crowd which was a huge mistake as thousands in that crowd already live within walking distance to Monroe, East End and South Wedge. Why drive or take a cab to high falls when you can just walk to much closer districts? They need to make it a more family friendly place.
