Well I finally am in Rochester, my wife and I got in two days ago.
Still getting settled, but we took a few hours and walked up a couple blocks to the Park Ave festival and had a great time. It was great to see all the people and vendors of the city.
We enjoyed our first festival here and are looking forward to traveling to Canadaigua next week for the wine festival!
You will notice that the summer is essentially festival time in Rochester and Upstate NY. Some are in other times of the year, but most seem to be jammed in during this time of the year.

You are wrong again! One of the biggest festival namely Lilac and Jazz festival are in May and June. This is Rochester section of the forum not Syracuse.
Have you gone to all the festival you have quoted above? Why would you recommend people going to Puerto Rican festival consider how danger it is? Have yout not seen the headline news after that festival? Ten Ugly Men Festival*— July 27 - Come on! I have been living in Rochester for all these time and I would never consider going to that festival you have quoted. Please share your actual experience rather than quoting stuff from Google.

Glad you enjoyed it! ckthankgod is right - lots of great festivals here in Rochester throughout the summer. (Ten Ugly Men festival started as a small fundraiser and is actually big and well attended now!) We love our festivals! In the fall, you'll find nice harvest-and autumn-themed festivals, hay rides, etc.
