Before any remarks come back about moving I already did, I brought my daughter to a safer area.

Why would anyone make remarks about you moving? We have no idea where you are, where you were, or your opinion on anything related to Rochester.. Your post makes no sense.

It is funny that you mention that because your link shows Rochester is safer than the best places avg.

Lets see...lake ontario, finger lakes, irondiquoit bay, fishing, hiking, camping, you have theaters, museums, plus you still have your malls and restaurants.

I mean, unless your in NY or Chicago or something, it's not much different from alot of other places, it's what you make of it. I just came up here from north carolina, I think there is a whole lot more going on here than in raleigh. Try finding a good restaurant down there that isn't a chain, not to many of them.

I also just came back up to Rochester after nearly 13 years in Raleigh. I agree, Rochester is more of a realy city and community than Raleigh will ever be.

whatever.....you're gone now. If Rochester's failing and you're so much better than all of us for leaving, no need to post in this forum right?

Failing in what sense? That numbers of certain things are lower than areas with much larger populations?

At least people in Rochester can afford to buy homes!
All that whining about property taxes there is so tiresome. Read the D&C today, complaints complaints about your taxes.

Try living somewhere that you actually have to pay over $150K for a house!
Rochester has some of the most affordable housing in the United States and all they can do is complain about how boring and how terrible they have it because of their taxes.

Rochester has some great museums and other cultural fare that other cities don't have. Especially for a city that is at this point, completely blue collar, there is alot to offer!

So,if you are bored,go ahead move... but try to afford your same 4 bedroom colonial anywhere else for what you pay for yours!
Be careful what you wish for.
