Rochester is boring and you know it
What is there to do in this town besides see a movie or drink? Honestly, how long can one go to the same mall before they go insane? You know this town stinks when all the high school students spend their Friday nights at the area malls loitering around. And they all come dressed like street thugs. Forget about our "cultural institutions." When you've been to them once, you never need to see them again. The art museum, science museum, Strong museum (for kids), Eastman House, the planetarium with its over-priced 40 minute films (Beavers, anyone!?). Sure there's Seabreeze but this is the middle of January, it's not open. In fact, Rochester is only worth anything in the Summer. When you can actually go outside. When you can make it from your front door to your car without having your frozen fingers struggling to grasp the car door handle and you just keep yanking but it won't budge cause the whole door is iced over. In the summer you mow, the fall you rake, and the winter, you shovel. It's merciless if you hate doing outdoor yard work. People suck at driving here, yes I'm talking to you 390 and 490 morning commuters who seem confused and unsure of what to do when lanes merge and exit ramps approach. "Duh the inner loop is approaching, I better slow down and create a cluster-****." No! You keep your speed and converge into the right lane.
Rochester is boring, you know it, and have fun watching football this weekend because it's the only thing that's going on in Rochester this weekend.

Haha. Will the madness never end?! Maybe you'd like it more if you took up skiing/snowboarding.

Life is what you make it and FWIW, there will be a lot of people watching ftball around the country today....we're heading out to the slopes ourselves....try getting off the computer and out the door (gloves work well at keeping the fingers from adherring to door handles)...good luck...

Perhaps you should pick up the "weekend" section of the paper or pick up the "city" newspaper because there are countless things to do in this area. If you are bored you are not trying. The fun police aren't going to come to your door and inform you of whats going on every day.

Actually, this post is kind of boring. Anyone can bash upstate New York cities. That's easy, and has been going on for years. At least come up with something original.
There are far worse towns than Rochester. Maybe you have to get out more.
Your friend - MrKool (who's lived in and visited *alot* of places).

Any city is what you make of it. I hear people whining that Scranton is "boring" too, but I'm always occupied. If you're unhappy living in Upstate New York, then move!
