Good to see that millennials make up 43% of new buys. Even though property taxes are on the higher side its still hard to pass up a house in the Rochester area that goes for mid/high 100's where that same house would cost over a half mil in a lot of other parts of the country.

Taxes may be relatively high here, but at the end of the day many younger people can afford mortgages in nice neighborhoods in Rochester that they couldn't afford in larger cities.

Just remember, if you purchase a home here, the lot has to be surveyed, and the surveyors here DO NOT place stakes at the lot corners UNLESS REQUESTED. There may be a slight charge - but it's a whole lot less expensive than having them come back out to the tune of $400 just to place stakes. What a racket.
