Default Moving to Rochester

Hi, I'm living in NYC currently and will be attending St. John Fisher college in the fall. I have been looking for apartments around the area through websites since I live too far to go visit personally. So I'm wondering does anyone have any suggestion for areas and apartments around the university?

Also right now I'm browsing through apartments in Brighton, specifically Brighton Gardens. Does anyone have any opinions about this complex? Any help will be appreciate, thank you!!!

I don't know how old you are... but the college kids... up through the 20's/early 30's like the Park Ave area for apartments... it is a bit more hip/trendy.

I lived in Brighton... it is a nice area... can walk to areas downtown from most parts. I am unsure where the apratment complex is you are looking at. Personally, if you are interested in bars, dining, cute shops, I would look down at Park Ave area/East/University... and the areas in between... The East End... you will meet lots of people that way.

I work in an office on Park ave and there are "For Rent" signs all over the place right now.

I don't want to live too far away from the university because I hate commuting...so 10-15 minutes driving is perfect. The complex I mentioned is located at 2125-2157 Monroe Avenue and it's not too far away.

Also how much are rents for a studio or 1 bedroom apartments around park avenue or Brighton generally?

700 - 900 on park avenue. And Brighton Gardens is right near the 12 Corners in Brighton which is horribly congested. Park Ave is only about 3 miles away from where you are looking.
