What would take this a step further is to offer a scholarship to RCSD graduates that are interested in business, similar to what the Say Yes scholarship and other promise programs try to do in urban areas with graduates of those school districts. That way, you can likely help jumpstart the economy in areas of the city that need it and cause built in job development via small businesses. Just a thought...

Here is some more information about the Golisano Institute for Business and Entrepreneurship: https://golisanoinstitute.org/

Tom Golisano has given a lot to autism programs and even purchased and saved the Buffalo Sabres, when there was no one else to step up. He gave to the Golisano Children's Hospital in Syracuse and the Niagara University Culinary Institute. He was also forced out of NYS due to high taxes. He now donates to his new home town of Naples FL. And you want him to do what?????

Wow...My point was simply to tie it in, not completely, with the RCSD, given that the biggest need would be in parts of the city of Rochester. Again, it is just a thought, that is considering the areas of the city that could use the investment. That's all. All of that other stuff didn't have anything to do with my idea and if anything, given his background of giving back, it may be something that comes up in the future.

Paychex generally adds about one new job on average to the region every day. With wages, benefits, etc, that's probably almost $100,000 a day to the GDP. How much do you want?

Here's my thought. Why do these areas need investment?

Do you know if those positions get to the people that need the jobs the most or from lower income areas?

Also, the better question may be why haven't those neighborhoods gotten the investment necessary?

Again, my point is that the institute could be a bridge for some RCSD students interested in business that come from areas of the city that could use more business investment/entrepreneurship via scholarship. I just want to be clear about what the idea is about, with added notions of what was said.

.
If those people have prepared themselves for the job, yes. Just because a person needs a job the most, is not a qualification.

Ask the people who live there why they don't maintain their home.

What does that have to do with the idea that I mentioned? It frankly doesn’t and to be honest, I wouldn’t be surprised if Mr. Golisano would have a more favorable reaction to the idea than you did.
