Exclamation Rochester Info

Wondering what areas of Rochester are nice for a young family. Also, is it true that the job market in Rochester is better than in other areas of Central NY??. Hope ot hear from someone soon!

Default Suburbs are nice! Some city neighborhoods too...

The Rochester burbs are quite nice for family. East side burbs are growing, as is Ogden on west side, I believe. I'm on the west side -- Gates/Chili area, which is very nice also, and not as pricey as the east side.

What type of work would you be looking for?

I'm from Greece, also on the west side. It's the best town in the Rochester area to live in IMO. Very family oriented, convinient location that's close to DT, beautiful lake shore, and it's not snooty like many of the East side burbs. The city of Rochester has some awsome neighborhoods too; particualrly in the SE area of the city; lots of really nice turn of the century homes in a nice city setting. Also Maplewood in the NW section of the city. Rochester City Schools are pretty bad though; whereas many of Rochester's suburban school districts are some of the best in the country.

I grew up on the east side of Rochester, LOVED it. My father lives in Brockport on the west side, very quaint town but growing. The college keeps it hip though.
