Far from it.... We Cubans are more proud of the US than many people born in this great country. We appreciate the liberty and the opportunities that this country has provided. With that being said, we still love our food so I will miss it if I move from NJ to Rochester.

I would think that there are some restaurants that serve Hispanic based Caribbean food in Rochester. I know we have a few such restaurants in Syracuse. Maybe El Latino on Thurston Rd? El Conquistador on Clifford Ave.? El Taino on Lyell? Not sure if they serve the same type of food you are looking for, but it might be similar to what you are looking for.

There is a Cuban "deli" on Clinton near Ave D called Cimos (spelling ?). They have good cubanos and ohter authentic goodies. Not a real sit down type place though.

Would that be "Cibao"? If so, they have closed the Deli section, and they are going to concentrate on the supermarket business. They are advertised as a "grocery" store now. I did not find any supermarket products there that are not already available in Wal-Mart or Wegmans. They are not (at this point) a specialty store, but a neighborhood grocery store.
There is a bakery, "Borinquen", at 1195 North Clinton Ave. As with many of these businesses, it is a small place that caters mostly to the neighborhood. They have good cuban sandwiches (though you have to pre-order 30 min. in advance), flan, and other pastries. But nothing like you would find in cities with a larger hispanic population.
