Default Residential or Long-Term stay hotel in Down Town?

I will travel to Rochester this summer in anticipation of relocating
there. Are there any residential hotels near State St/Exchange and
East Main?

Also, which grocery market is good for non-meat eaters?
I already know of the Public Market.

Thanks,

-s

I would call these places, I don't know if they offer extended stay though. They are all downtown within the inner loop.

Downtown Rochester Hotels, New York Reservations & NY Rooms- Hyatt Regency Rochester

Rochester New York hotels, Clarion Hotel near the Erie Canal, Rochester NY 14604

Radisson Hotel Rochester Riverside - Overview

I have been in both the Hyatt and the Clarion both a very nice, probably the two best in Rochester. Both have the skyway connected to them. Depends on your budget. I would start with the hotels above and ask if they know of any other locations if the hotels do not offer extended stay.

Default Thanks,

I'll check out the hotels as much as I can online, and come up with a solution.

It looks like you are really looking within the city. But there are two other areas that might not be that bad to look:

Greece ridge mall area and the Marketplace mall area. Both have highway access, shopping and food. The traffic on rt104 by Greece Ridge can be a pain sometimes. But if you have trouble finding a place downtown, try those two.

Have you been in Wegmans? Best grocery I've been in, anywhere in the country. And I'm a vegetarian too. They've gradually been closing their city locations, but they've still got one on East Ave near Winton.

Also, are you sure you need to stay in a hotel? If it were me, I'd look on craigslist for a short-term apartment lease or summer sublet.

Default I am a "city Dweller"

Although I was raised on a farm, I'm attached to cities - more to do.
Not my current city, El Paso, almost dying here; and, one of my reasons
for leaving. I've not lived here long, so I'll miss nothing.

I visited Wegman's Web site, and I feel, they'll get most of
my grocery shopping, along with the Public Market. There are no
Farmer's Markets here, and I miss them from living in
California and Boston.

I'll find a suitable place for a temporary stay before I
pay any deposits of holding fees. At this time, I'd rather
just go to Rochester and cross my fingers, toes, chromosomes,
that I will find a spot. Without returning to El Paso.
Thanks for all the tips

I'm looking forward to seeing real snow again; the snow here
is gone by 8 AM. I do miss shoveling - great exercise.
