I think you may have to house your MIL's dog for her....most complex's will not take a German Shepard, not because of it's size. Unfortunately, they are one of the few breeds that is discriminated against. It is so sad because they are such good dogs.

How are you liking living in Brockport? I have followed your posts and know you came from Long Island right?

Try rent.com its an ebay site for finding apartments we used to use. They used to give you a gift card if found an apartment as a bonus.

Yes I did. My family and I love it.The things that it has in common with Long Island are that everything(food, shopping) are so close and at most 15-20 minutes away. The difference is half the mortgage, much lower heat and electric and property taxes and the schools also are much better. I also noticed that even though it snows often,it's just powder which can be pushed to the side whereas on long island we had heavy snow that you had to break your back lifting.
People also seem to be much more sincere as a whole. When I would hit a drive in,in long island or some businesses you frequently got the fake smile which made me want to smack the employee upside the head!!! During my time in the Air Force I travelled all over the states and out of the country and the best part about the area is the charm of the midwest or south without the drop in intelligence and also the lack of racism and inferiority complex from losing the civil war.

Well, I'm not from that area, but there are some apartments that allow large dogs. All you have to do is call the office and ask for the limit on size of animals, and of course in your area.

Drop of intelligence and inferiority complex in the south...hmmmm. I visit the Brockport and surronding areas all the time. I have family members that actually moved up there. I have many friends that are native to the area and arent move ins from Eastern New York. Theres just as much racism in the North as in the South. Its just too bad that people from the cities of Eastern New York are moving to the Western side. I love the country towns surronding Brockport and the country lifestyle the people have. Its no different from the South really.

Alot of the scenery looks similiar but when you go to alot of the midwest or the top half of Florida especially the racism is strong. You are right that it's everywhere but in certain places more then others unfortunately. In long island and NYC you don't see it quite as much.
