BlueRidge?...No is on a distinguished road
Good, If you don't like it, then move. It's a free country and you can move if you want.We moved to Blue Ridge, Georgia from Naples, Florida a few years ago and hate the isolated way of life and lack of modern day amenities. If/When our beautiful mountain house ever sells, we will either be moving back to Florida, Massachusetts, or north-Atlanta to be around "normal" modern-day conveniences.
Here's the link for our house

Default I miss Rochester

I moved to daytona beach from rochester in 2002, I can't wait to move back Spring 2010. I have been through 5+ hurricaines, Fires, tornado's, Floods, Droughts and Thunderstorms with lighting so close you need to change your shorts and dont forget the HEAT, so intense it sucks the breath from your lungs.
I followed friends down from college ( SUNY Brockport ) they live in Tampa and Orlando cities not for me, I am not going to bash them but no way in hell i would live there. I settled in Daytona because I had family here but some have died and the rest moved back. This is a pretty area but the beach loses its appeal and there is little else.
I cook for a living and its hard down here not only is the pay what i made ten years ago in Rochester I am competing with chefs for line cook jobs and top it off I am working two jobs when i can. In Rochester I Supported myself on one job. My first job lasted 9 years everything I learned about cooking happened at Mama Taccones italian resturant on monroe ave, Than cooked at the Phoenix Mill in high falls, Oscars, The Brighton, some others.
Thought about moving half way back but in the last 3 months been thinking about Rochester a lot. Miss so much about it; The Public Market, Eating on Park Ave, Shopping at Archimage onMonroe, Brown Bag Book shop on Monroe, The Village gate, The Museums, the zoo, Seabreeze, Skiing, Canada and a cold crisp LABATTS, The nice real friendly neighbors in the Southwedge, walking the dog in MT. Hope cemetary, FALL FALL FALL, and doing nothing but watching the snow come down, driving down to corning to see all of my relatives
I do not hate Florida will visit in the future but I WANT TO COME BACK HOME.
