Is Rochester a gay friendly city?

I have gay friends who live in Pittsford and they love it. It's definitely an affluent Democratic enclave.

I also know several trans people who have spoken very highly of the city as well, although harassment certainly exists here, like it does everywhere.

Pittsford is a democrat enclave ?.... are you kidding ?... I don't believe that any democrat serves in any town position ... its so overwhelmingly Republican that I don't think the democrats even ran anyone against them for any position in town. I don't believe there is even any democrat party organization in town.

I would say yes it is, at least on the east and southeastern areas. Rochester is a very artistic community and that usually goes hand in hand with acceptance of gays.
