How about a city with the richness of Rochester (free nightly Eastman Student concerts, the garage and Garage Pop scenes, Bop Shop, Simon Pontin, Charlotte until they ruin it, Durand Park until they ruin it, Sea Breeze until they ruin it, tree-lined streets, great garage sales and flea markets, the Public Market, Sound Source, Grandma Brown's, Vic and Irv's and Don's Original and Tom's Original and Nick Tahou's, Bay and Goodman, Brother Wease, Movies in the Bowl, Eastman House and galleries and museums, Landmark Society tours, the Red Wings, the Finger Lakes, etc etc etc) but with less-murderous winters and a little more sun?

I dunno...

We always went away in April or May. That was when the gray and the mud and the freezing rain began to penetrate the soul.

Kind of liked the winter until it was so ugly as to continue into March.

April can be pretty hit or miss depending as far as being "springish" or "winterish" (April 08 was one of the warmest on record..got into the 80s for 3 days and in the 70's for the second half of the month!)...but once you get into May its sunny, warmer, an greener for sure.

Ahh yes April...one good Friday we went to a corporate affair in the boonies...someplace out in Henrietta. Went in it was mid 70s. Came out 2.5 hours later into a howling blizzard and 20 degrees. Actually had a bad drive to get back to civilzation. Ahh yes...spring in Rochester...
