Default Since we have been doing a lot of Restaurant talk lately.....

I thought we could help each other out. As I have mentioned before I am an East Side Girl and know that part of Rochester like the back of my hand (Fairport, Victor, Penfield, Pittsford, Webster....and more).... I tend to dine on that part of town or The City (Park Ave, University, East Ave, Alexander....).... Since we have been doing a lot of talk about dining at local restaurants and coffee shops.... I was thinking we could start a Restaurant thread to get each other to try new places around town. Places we wouldn't think about going to on our own. As you all might have learned I don't head out to Gates/Chili/Brockport... but if someone were to tell me about an amazing place to eat I might trek out there and try it..... So... I thought I would start this thread....

Here are a few East Side Locations that I like

Welcome to Pattaya Thai Pattaya's in Penfield is a great place for Thai

Welcome to Joey B's Restaurant located in Fairport NY offering great food and outdoor dining. Joey B's in the Village of Fpt is a great place for a more upscale dinner and in the summer time you can eat by the canal

Home Great sushi in Webster.... pretty inexpensive and delicious

Home - Olives Greek Taverna Olives in Pittsford.... very good Med/Greek.... if you want a change of pace from Aladins and then a nice walk along the canal

Welcome to Sak's Thai Cuisine Another AMAZING Thai location (I love thai) in Perinton near Egypt.... I like this one the best...

Well..... just to get us started.... hope this takes off... It hink it would be a great way to help everyone to branch out....(especially me! LOL) and those who are new to the area figure out where to dine.....

Good Luck Restaurant Great tapas style place. Reservations are needed. Good place to take a date. Near village gate

I've also heard great things about that sushi place listed above from my sushi snob friends.

James Brown's Place Great diner food. One of the best breakfasts in Rochester. On Culver road.

My wife and I went to 2 Vine the other day for Valentines. The food was excellent. If you go, be prepared to spend at least $30 a plate not including drinks, so its not an everyday thing. But for a special occasion or to impress a girl, I'd recommend it.

Its on the East side of downtown, within the inner loop.

I havn't tried James Brown yet. For a diner, we like Liberty on Winton RD across from the Tops.

Liberty is good. Across the street is Jim's Diner which is also good. They seem to only employ busty attractive women too. Like that Seinfeld episode.

For Greek-- Mythos Cafe in Brockport(very good),Pizza--Main Street Pizza in Brockport(just like long island pizza),Italian--Grandpa Sam's in Spencerport(also on union/rt 259)--Very good Chicken French also known as Francaise in long island and NYC.
I did alot of research before me and the family moved here including schools, proximity to shopping, quality of life; but have been pleasantly surprised at how good the food is. Any local place makes good wings too.

We were just talking ITALIAN tonight at my parents..... I had to put these on here....

Garlic Pit
696 Ridge Rd.
Webster, NY 14580
Very good Italian- small inside but the food is so good- very casual and laid back inside... not fancy at all but you won't be disappointed w/ the food....

Another one in Webster..... Welcome! Proietti's.... SO GOOD! It is in the same plaza as the Webster Library- across from the Webster BJ's..... great food, a little pricier.... atmosphere.... delicious....

In Perinton Square Mall there is another one from the owners of Banucci's....
Bocaccinis Home Page great food and cool atmosphere (always get the carbonara there)..... They also own this one in Canandaigua (I believe) http://koozinas.com/ (the garlic pasta with chicken is the fav there) and I love them both.....
