I have used Verizon to tether my phone to a computer and it seems pretty fast but your really limited to one computer with it.

Enter your location

Verizon is even more expensive for an aircard.

$60 for 5GB $0.25/MB overage

$40 50MB $0.25/MB overage

1000MB in 1GB so 1GB of overage would equate to $250/GB.

You could plow through 50MB like it was nothing, so you would almost ahve to get the 5GB plan to make it worthwhile.

I thought so too, I pulled that off the web site under aircards. Unless I'm looking at the wrong thing?

Verizon air card is much more expensive and much slower. The best bet is to hope that Frontier can pull their act together to make a decent product or even start a Fiber to the Home project like Verizon FioS. Verizon won't be in Rochester unless they manage to buy out Citizens Communication, or at least do some deal to buy Frontier from them.

Yes, anything that uses the internet will use up your bandwidth allotment. According to the Time Warner rep I spoke to, they will give everyone a tool that will be like a gas gauge telling them how much of their bandwidth they have used. This will be available for the 3 months before it starts, so you should have a good idea whether it will work for you or whether you should call up Frontier

Good info! Will it be software for the computer or a physical device plugged into the cable?
