There are posters, well in every area of the city-data forum, who just decide to make negative posts for the sake of being negative. One assumes something about that post, one thing leads to another and pretty soon the thread is an argument instead of where the best mall is.

Everyone made a statement about it, so it served its purpose. People who need info can always search or ask more questions. A thread with a poll would be better imo.

They are re-doing the Irondequoit mall and putting in some high end retailers. Maybe there will be a Nordstroms?
I get the brands that Nordstroms sells at smaller stores in the area.

I say just put Irondequoit Mall out of its misery... I mean, I have seen malls come back with a bang from near extinction (take Albany's Colonie Center, which went from being the run-down shytty 60s mall ten years ago to *the* mall now.) But I've seen far, far more malls simply close down, be demolished, and replaced with a Wal-Mart or something.

Make it into a strip mall, which has happened here in the Syracuse area with the old Fayetteville Mall. It is now called the Towne Center at Fayetteville.

Here's a picture(from the site):

I love the idea of what they are doing to medley centre! You know why... Its private funding. I could careless if it goes under. The important thing is that the guy is pumping 250 million dollars into the Rochester economy.

One question, who is the idiot that put the monroe county jail downtown? The guy should be hung. The land which the jail is sitting on is prime real-estate. Imagine a massive mall right there! I mean massive mall. People would flock there. Its in a great part of downtown. Tear it down!

I doubt you would see people flock to downtown for another shopping mall for the same reason Midtown Plaza closed. They charge for parking and there are punks hanging around the courtyard and streets, you can't even eat without having your car broken into (ask me how I know).

Not only that, the parking tickets are expensive if you by chance shop longer than the meter allows (ask me how I know). I don't shop there anymore.
