Default I need to find a faster internet in downtown Rochester. My job my depend on it!

Hello everyone,

I currently work for a large employer in Milwaukee, WI. In 2 weeks I'll be moving back to my roots in Rochester, NY. They've allowed me to stay on full time while working remotely, which is great!

My problem: I will be frequently uploading data to our network and through video conferencing. Time Warner seems to only be able to accommodate an upload speed of 1.0 Mbps! The Turbo package is 15 down/1 up. Absurd.

I've been searching online for well over 10 hours on just this topic, made several phone calls, and don't seem to be getting anywhere.

For reference, I'll be living at 1600 East Avenue.

It's getting to the point where money is becoming less of a concern, simply because I NEED to get this resolved. I would pay as much as $150/month to get an upload speed above 3 Mbps.

Any technically gifted people out there or has anyone heard of someone in a similar predicament in Rochester solve their problem?

What I've come up with:
1) Is there any WiMAX in Rochester? I see articles that it was going to happen in 2007, but I can't find any info on this service. Things like Netsville - Colocation, Web Hosting, Wireless in Rochester, New York. Other services include eCommerce, Programming, and Design. looked promising but I'm not sure what they can really do. I'm waiting to hear back.
2) Has Frontier done ANYTHING with FTTH (Fiber to the home)? I would be willing to dish out a high one time fee.
3) Is Time Warner Business going to be able to offer me anything that's not insanely expensive? I've confirmed that the residential side can do nothing for me and I'm waiting to hear back from the business side, since it will be an office.
4) I hear that Fronter used to offer a much faster DSL service than they do now? Is that true? Is there anyway to get it now? I'm waiting to hear back from them.

Well, I think you all get the point of this email! ANY ideas you may have would be appreciated. I'm starting to grow increasingly concerned.

Thank you.

Did you try TW Business Class? The 15/1 sounds like the top residential package. I am in the process of moving my agency and working with Jim @ 756-1938 at Time Warner Business Class. He has done a good job so far.
