Default Is this too much for a 1-day trip?

Some old college friends are visiting me in July and expressed an interest in seeing Niagara Falls (they are from all around the country and several have never been there before.) Now we are mulling over the possibility of driving from Rochester (really from our hotel in Henrietta) to the Canadian side of the Falls in the morning, then driving to Niagara-on-the-Lake to do some shopping/eating, followed by a play at the Shaw Festival and then driving back to Rochester after the show. I've only lived in Rochester for a couple of years so I'm not quite sure about distances. Is this a crazy trip to plan for one day? I'm thinking it will be about 1 1/2 hours to the Falls from here, then 20 minutes or so to NOTL--is that right? So if we got out of a show at, say, 10:30 PM, we'd get back to Rochester around 12:30 in the morning? We are all close to 50 so are not quite the party animals we used to be, although I think we could handle it if my estimates are correct :-) Of course, I also haven't factored in border wait times.

I do it all the time when family or friends come to visit if you go to the other side you need a passport.

Definitely doable. Your time estimates are pretty accurate; and if you leave somewhat early in the morning (before 9); you could have a decent amount of time at each place.

Thanks! I'm glad my time estimates weren't too far off! :-)
Yes, I knew about the new passport rules. I have mine and my friends either have theirs or are in the process of getting them.

My only thing to add is that it might take some time to get across the border. Especially if that time in July is around the 4th of July weekend. It shouldn't be too bad if you are crossing in the morning though.
